Course Paper: Case Analysis of Fatima and Rosie

For this paper, please take a professional perspective on these two cases, considering their situations and functioning as if you are working in a helping profession or in policy. Please address these cases side-by-side (comparing or otherwise discussing the same questions for each).

Use course material to address the following questions:

1. What challenges and resources do you see in their macro-systems? How are these factors impacting each woman’s developmental path or functioning (e.g., through stress-related processes, or by shaping the options or choices she has, etc.)? What changes or additions at this level could promote their positive development and well-being?
2. What challenges and resources do you see in their exo-systems? Are there changes or additions at this level that you believe could promote their positive development and well-being?
3. What challenges and resources do you see in their micro-systems (and perhaps in their meso-systems)? How are these factors impacting each woman’s developmental path or functioning?
What changes at this level could promote their positive development and well-being?
Be sure to bring in the family stress model—you should make it clear how the macro- or exo-system factors and micro-system/family-level processes are related
4. What individual-level factors do you see that are resources or challenges/risks for these women? (Considering course material, this should heavily involve coping, personality, and social support and relationship skills and processes.) What positive shifts in these resources and risks do you observe in the stories, or what changes or additions in these processes do you believe could promote their well-being and functioning (note this can tie-in to course information related to mental health treatment/counseling, etc.)?

5. Write a conclusion section that summarizes your core (“bottom-line”) assessment of each case in terms of risk and protective factors and your sense of what protective factors could make the biggest difference in supporting the positive development and well-being of each woman (you can also mention one or more factors you think would be ideal, and then mention one you believe would be most doable within a given profession, for ex.).
