The order consists of two 2000- words essays, which are methods-focused and should demonstrate the following: • Knowledge of the following core areas of psychology: cognitive psychology, biological psychology, social psychology and individual differences. • Critical appreciation of the types of evidence and research methods used in psychology. • Ability to construct arguments with appropriate use of psychological concepts, theories and evidence. • Ability to interpret and evaluate the contributions of different kinds of evidence and research methods. • Ability to select, summarise, synthesise and reference appropriately information from different psychological sources, including primary texts. • Ability to present written material in a coherently organised form, with arguments and information in a logical sequence and communicated effectively in a variety of formats • Ability to employ evidence-based reasoning and to critically examine practical, theoretical and ethical issues. The first essay, 2000 words Title: Studying language can help us to better understand human experience. Critically evaluate this statement, drawing on evidence from both cognitive and social psychology. You must draw on evidence from chapters 4 and 9 of the module (although material from other chapters can also be included). In addition, you should draw on and discuss at least two academic journal articles or equivalent primary source material not referred to in the DE300 module materials. The second essay, 2000 words Title: ‘Our biology determines our experience’. Critically evaluate this statement, drawing on evidence from both biological psychology and the psychology of individual differences. For your essay, you should draw on material from chapters 2, 6, plus material from at least one other chapter of the module. In addition, you should draw on and discuss at least two academic journal articles or equivalent primary source material not referred to in the DE300 module materials. Note: I would like the writer to search for the two relevant academic journal articles required for each essay. However, I also would like to suggest some I already found. To guarantee that the primary sources were not referred to in the DE300, it is better for the journals to be later than 2016 (DE300 year of publication).
