Methodologies : You need to demonstrate an understanding of why the authors may have chosen particular approaches and an understanding of how such approaches can be implemented. Underlying Mathematics : The paper includes some mathematical statements and diagrams, which have been derived via mathematical means. You need to demonstrate that you are capable of producing this underlying mathematics. Critical analysis : you should be prepared to give an informed opinion on the suitability of techniques used by that authors, the limitations of such techniques and offer alternative approaches or possible ways of building upon this research.
