Scientific controversy: Climate change controversy

Scientists and other stakeholders have varying answers to specific questions regarding the climate change controversy. The issue is not simply a matter of answering one question about whether Earth is becoming warmer. Other questions that may be posed include the following: What changes might occur as a result of global warming? What actions might slow climate change? What are the risks and benefits of particular actions? Stakeholders may have different answers to these questions depending on how a particular action impacts them. Seethaler states in Lies, Damned Lies, and Science, “There is no single unbiased source that provides an accurate list of the pros and cons of making a particular decision” (p. 30). For this week’s Discussion, you will analyze one stakeholder’s position in the climate change controversy to determine whether the position is biased. Post by Day 3 a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of a stakeholder’s position on climate change in which you: Identify the stakeholder. Summarize the stakeholder’s position. Identify bias, if any, in the stakeholder’s position and state why you believe there is bias. Cite at least three references from your resources to support your analysis. Cite all references in APA format.
